I lose count of how many ISS IAC BOB ASCNM threads that pop up daily. But thats ok isnt it. Cos they are Proper alliances.
The reason Privateer threads are 'constanly in your face' is that alliance heads constantly post in them
This then bumps them to the top. Which means more alliance heads post in them. Which bumps them again. If you check Ollobrains thread about MOO - one in 7 posts is by a privateers if that. It is in effect your thread as you are keeping it active.
Ollos thread about MOO was TOTATTLY misread by 90% of the posters who posted in that thread. If you take it as it was intended "that the privateers are ON THE WAY to becoming A MENANCE that may go down in Eve History" then pretty much everone must agree. I dont know how many alliances have ever had 40 empire wars running simultaniously?

In this alone we have already gone down in history. Maybe as a sidenote but pfft. IF we continue our curve and get a thousand pilots. Whos to say?
And seeing as 95% of alliance-heads i see in game are sporting and generally decent - where the hell do all the forum winkers turn up from?

As such, and bearing in mind the wide variety of people that a free alliance such as the one we share will attract, it is inevitable that different people will have different opinions. Thus, one person will tell you I DONT CARE WHAT YOU LOT THINK and the other will distance himself from Ollobrains posts. Although we can engender a fierce loyalty among some pilots, there is no 'us' in the sm way as BOB os ASCN is an 'us'
Whilst many people have cained ollobrains for his posts (which if you read and analyze are essentialy pertinant and mainly accurate) he hasnt griefed an alliance member so he stays in the alliance free to say what he wants.
This has been briefly discussed by us, the conclusion was any attempt to impose controls, even as small as some sort of PR mouthpiece on the eve-o forums, would betray the initial vision of the corp/alliance, and be a slippery slide into that which many people have fled from - A top heavy, ego-centric, hierarchicaly alliance which has an 11 year old shouting STFU ONLY I MAY CELEBRATE AFTER KILLING THE TITAN in teamspeak at you.

The problem with these long thread is people understandably dont want to read 300 posts so those of us in the beginning end up repeating themselves again and again untill they are sick of it then the thread dies a horrific death before being necroed.

I presume your remark was aimed at the only Titan kill when clearly someone above the age of 11 was trying to maintain battle discipline over teamspeak.
The sort of discipline that allowed BOB to kill that Titan on the way to destroying ASCN.
It is interesting that ollobrains situation is already being discussed.
The discussion itself shows a hierarchy forming within your alliance.
Hopefully they will eventually make some decent decisions for the good of your alliance.
The discussion was purely about whether we should have some sort of eve-o policy. Not specifically about Ollobrains. And the discussion was on our forums, where everyone is free to speak, and anyone who had any opinion was free to post. The general consensus was not to implement any control. Ollobrains himself was party to this discussion. Our CEO aggreed. Most people didnt care tbh.
The 11 year old quote and the titan were really a bunch of stories mixed into one and no age related offence intended to the actual guys involved.
Its obviously normal behavior in BoB however that is a prime example of what a lot of people hate about the big alliances.
 Your playing a game - youve spent hours following some guy around, sitting on gates, getting blown up,fleet sniping, bombarding pos's YAWN.
Finally your enemy has a computer related malfunction/makes a human error. Which you take advantage of. You kill the titan.
This is huge thing in the game, and arguable lead to ASCN breaking up to some extent. Your happy! YAY WE KILLED IT! All those hours of tedium under carpal-tunnel man and finally something exciting.
So you cheer! Then some-guy says to you
"GUYS.... GUYS..... LET MOLLY GET EXCITED.... THE REST OF YOU CAN SHUT THE F**K UP"
And you defend it as "maintaining battle discipline". There was no battle - BOB were in a ss with a dead Titan.
This isnt a one off story, nor is it confined to BOB.
But its a main reason I like the privateers. No rank = no condescension.
